Trend Hunter reported on 1800 Tequila's Design Your Bottle campaign back in April. The competition officially opened September 14, 2008 and invited tequila fans to submit their own art for a new bottle design. The winner will get $10,000 and have their bottle used in 2009's retail production. Here are some of the entries.
Implications - Brands who invite people to help design a product are using a great marketing strategy. Giving people a way to interact and engage with a brand gives consumers the feeling of being part of a community. People who contribute to a brand will become loyal because they feel that they have helped the brand get one step closer to reaching its full potential.
