Many non-smokers have died during the recent years due to COPD (Chronic
Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). This disease was until now only associated with smoking, but has lately been proven to be caused by small particles in poor quality indoor air environments.
This conclusion can be found in a report from the World Health Organisation (WHO) presented at the European lung medicine congress in Stockholm, 15th of September 2007.
According to the report chronic lung diseases will be the third largest cause of death in year 2020.
Many other factors indicate that pollutants such as small particles and ozone cause severe health problems. Ionizing air is not a new technology; however the existing purifiers have often a low effect or have emission of ozone as a bi-product.

With its eye catching beauty the LightAir IonFlow 50 eliminates more than 99% of all airborne pollution particles (nano particles below 0,1 μm) without generating any ozone. These particles normally represent around 90% of all particles in the air. LightAir air purifier does not loose effect over time like filter based air purifiers do. It offers an outstanding combination of efficient, silent, ozone free, energy saving and easy to use, economical operation.

The LightAir IonFlow 50 is small (7.5x26 inches or 19x66 cm and weighs 5.1 lbs or 2.3 Kg excl. the adapter), is movable and have clean lines, a slim silhouette and an aluminium collector with a handmade transparent acrylic stand, offering a stylish alternative to typical industrial looking air purifiers. LightAir IonFlow 50 is shaped by award winning Swedish designer Michael Malmborg.

LightAir IonFlow 50 runs on only 12V and consumes less than 7W per hour. The decorative LED-lights are energy saving and have a long life cycle of 75 000 hours. The decorative lights are independent from the purifying function and can be turned off at any time without interrupting the system.
With a noise level less than 5 dB a continuous operation doesn’t disturb indoor life. For reference: a level of 45 decibels indoors is identified as preventing activity, causing interference and annoyance.

For optimal function a maximum room area is 540 sq ft (50 m2) is recommended.
