Nissan Unveiled a Self-Cleaning System that Uses 'Ultra-Ever Dry' Paint

Nissan is using Ultra-Ever Dry paint to create a self-cleaning and self-healing line of cars. Soon, you will not have to take a trip to the car wash, which means less money spent on car maintenance and a lot of time saved. This announcement by the automotive makers could mean an upcoming doomsday for car washes.

The special paint easily repels dirt, dust and mud by incorporating both oleophobic and hydrophobic oils. The paint was made by “creating a protective layer of air between the paint and environment.”

Nissan Europe will be the first to feature the paint and then it is hopeful to make its way over to the US in a couple years. Unfortunately, the concept is in the early stages and neither the price of the paint as an after-market product or the car has been released.
