Artist, musician and cyclist David Byrne has created a series of typographic bike racks that have been installed in Brooklyn, New York. The typographic bike racks, commissioned by the Brooklyn Academy of Music, are the second collection of artistic bike racks created by Byrne. In 2008, he made a series of oddly shaped bike racks, including a dog, a guitar, a dollar sign and a high heeled shoe, that were installed around New York City.
Now Byrne is again catching the eye of New York's cyclists with his letter-shaped bike racks, which were unveiled on Aug. 21. All together, Bryne's blue-hued racks spell "Pink Crown"; however, the bike racks aren't bolted into the ground so they can be rearranged to spell out different words.
