Why buy a Full iMac, when you can create a professional recording studio with nothing more than a Mac-mini (and of course, cables, wires, software, and instruments).  Many in the garageband and amateur musician scene worried about the power and speed capabilities of the Mac Mini, but the nice folks over at engadget wrote out detailed plans.

It’s no longer just the rich tech-geeks who can turn their parents’ basement into a recording studio and record 3 albums full of Modest Mouse and Arcade Fire covers.  Welcome to the digital revolution where you too can be a garage/computer/ambient/techno musician for less than 1000 dollars.  Go visit your local garage sale for some talent though.

Gone are the days of needing hundreds of thousands of dollars to set up a studio to produce your own tracks; a decent digital audio workstation can now be set up for comparatively ridiculously low cost. (engadget)
