Riding the subway is a daily part of life for many city dwellers and it’s usually not something you look forward to doing… UNLESS you live in Stockholm and the city’s subway system is carved out solid rock and features cool caves and hard rock ceilings and artistic carvings.

The Stockholm Tunnelbana has three lines encompassing 110km of track and 100 stations of which 64km and 55 stations are underground. Several of the deep underground stations are cut into solid rock which were left with cave-like ceilings. The builders carved fascinating artistic objects out of the rock. (digg)

I Love it, same for Oslo, Bergen Norway systems, Finland, No Italy near Alps, Austria, Western Russia. Cool. Very Hi tech , very Sci Fic. See movie GENESIS 2, 1973 & SUBSHUTTLE train system. One pic reminds of PAX subshuttle station. GENESIS 2 is a Gene Roddenberry movie TV of 1970s.
