It is hard not to notice the childlike influence scattered throughout the Tsumori Chisato Pre-Fall 2014 collection. From the basically painted backdrop to the adorable prints used throughout, the fashion is as playful as it is sophisticated. Striking a rather fine balance between the two, the fashion line was nevertheless largely inspired by a geographic destination, in this case a trip the designer took to Prague and the Czech Republic.
From the graphic prints that loosely recall Constructivist art to peasant-like wool dresses and knit tops, the Eastern Europe influence over the Tsumori Chisato Pre-Fall 2014 collection is undeniable. WWD also notes, "A fox was Chisato’s animal of the season, the motif worked as prints, embroidery and even as big cartoonish fur stoles that played against the mostly urban mood."
