Retailers in Australia, anticipating the launch of the PlayStation 3 and hoping to acquire pre-orders, resorted to very devious marketing maneuvers to hide the fact that no PS3 systems were presently in-store.
Masked behind accompanying cardboard cutouts of PS3 displays were discovered Xbox 360 systems running games displayed on nearby monitors.
Down in Australia, they're about to launch the PlayStation 3. So some retailers, like Harvey Norman, have taken to setting up... well, fake PlayStation 3 cardboard cutouts, with games running on a monitor near them. Cute, except what are they using to run the games? I think you might be able to figure it out.
