Google is all set to shake up the smartphone industry by introducing trial run ads that will enable you to access smartphone app trials from inside mobile ads.

The trial run ads are essentially app advertising formats that allow users to try out apps for a maximum of 60 seconds by streaming content from the app's host servers, before going ahead and downloading.

This means that app developers can rest assured that app installations are coming from people who already pre-approve the product, rather than people randomly trying apps they don't know much about.

Another advantage of these trial run ads is that they could go towards reducing the quantity of apps that sit around on people's smartphones and never get used. This way, customers can try out apps and get to know them before deciding whether or not to download them.
