Trend Hunter President Shelby Walsh was recently featured on BNN's Business Day to discuss McCain Food's latest television ad aiming to target fresh frozen foods to Millennial consumers. Walsh comments on how McCain Food's switch to a more authentic brand image is a great way to attract Millennial shoppers to purchase frozen dishes.
The new McCain Food's ad campaign highlights couples and small group consumers, rather than traditional families and children, as a way to attract Millennial consumers. Walsh claims that in the new ad viewers can see "... a younger consumer segment that has not settled down and had kids yet. They're a little slower to start families, home ownership and that sort of thing." This honest and genuine marketing tactic is a great way to appeal to Millennials that are drawn to authentic branding and representation of themselves in the media.
