As part of an ongoing effort to increase my addiction to delicious trends, I just created something special.  I call it, “Can You Guess What’s Next?”

In short, every trend now features another image tempting you to dive deeper into our collection of beautiful things.

I’m expecting a call from my internet service provider because I am clicking on way too many pages.  If not my ISP, then maybe my doctor.  Trend Hunter addiction is consuming me.

I hate to say this, but there's no guessing at all. The url is a dead giveaway. Once you point your mouse over the image, the url is displayed in the status bar of the browser, making it very easy to know what the trend is about, especially since most trends use long url names. If you want this to be effective, you gotta disable the url showing when we move the mouse over it.

The URL trick can only be done if I do a redirect to a different URL like /id/20299 (which would take you to the fake lawsuit trend). Anyway, it's not meant to be THAT big as a surprise. It's meant more to entice you to keep clicking through the site...

Yeah, I just get excited when something starts with "can you guess", lol. I have to say that after using it for one day, I think its GREAT. At first I thought most people already know whats next, as they see that trend when they are in the main TH page. But when a reader comes via an outside link, this is a great way to intruige them and drive them to read more.

For me it's also a fun way to cycle through all of the trends. I'm rather addicted...

@ JG Couldn't you use just tiny urls in your site?

@Happy: I don't even need tiny urls, I can redirect with something like: www.trendhunter.com/id/20299 (that works), but I want it to be fast (with no redirect) and if it is a real link, there is a benefit with google indexing... (sorry to nerd it up with excessive detail)

I absolutely love this feature...especially if the trends relate to one another, it's so cool.
