Presented as part of Do it Day -- a global movement that invites marketers to join together in an effort to solve environmental issues faced by communities and major businesses -- Dennis Publishing unveiled its 'Trees for Trees' project.
The strategy centers around a plan to plant 10,000 trees in just 24 hours. This project will take place at the Heart of England Forest and is the publisher's attempt to address the issue of sustainability within its industry. Despite of the publishing industry's shift to digital publications, the issue of paper waste is still prevalent. With books printed each day around the globe, a solution is needed by participating publishers who are willing to be accountable.
Dennis Publishing aims to encourage similar brands to follow in the footsteps of its 'Trees for Trees' strategy. The socially-fueled project invites children to post a tree drawing to Facebook and Instagram channels. Once sent, the image would be brought to life with a real tree while the artist behind the best drawing would be given the honor of naming the newly planted forest.
