Danish Company VIPP's Charity Competition to Combat AIDS
VIPP is working with design retailer Design Within Reach (DWR) on this event to raise funds for the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA). Celebrity designers at this competition include Yoko Ono, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren.
Implications - This example proves that customers expect aesthetic appeal from their products, even if it is a garbage bin. The design of a product greatly enhances a consumer's user experience and since most products in North American society are visually engaging, it has become a customer expectation. Corporations need to remain vigilant in designing visually appealing products if they are to maintain or grow their success.
