Trademarked Personal Fashion - Don Cherry Trademarks His Look
[Edit]
A fixture on the Canadian Broadcast Corporation’s (CBC) Hockey Night in Canada, the passionate and argumentative Don Cherry has been providing hockey commentary in his Coach’s Corner segment for decades on Saturday nights during the National Hockey League (NHL) season.
His passion for hockey, and Canada in general garnered widespread popularity as he was voted among the greatest Canadians ever.... And then there’s his fashion sense....
He never fails to sport his signature shirts with unusually high collars, and suits that are as flamboyant as his personality. This is in deep contrast with his more subdued, traditionally clad Coach’s Corner sidekick Ron MacLean.
It takes a special person to pull off this kind of attire, but in Canada, this outfit can easily be explained with the phrase “It’s just like Don Cherry”.
With the NHL’s growing popularity in the USA, and Cherry taking his act to ESPN during this year’s playoffs, this fashion sense is sure to lure in some American popularity.
