As the global COVID-19 pandemic develops, open-source tech becomes available as a solution to slow it down or put it to a halt--TraceTogether is one such application that can make a strong difference.
TraceTogether is a community-driven and Bluetooth-powered contact tracing solution. The application is capable of identifying "people who have been within 2m of coronavirus patients for at least 30 minutes." If a user of the app becomes infected, health authorities will be able to efficiently track down everyone who has been in close contact with that individual.
TraceTogether is designed by the Government Digital Services team at the Government Technology Agency of Singapore and at the end of March, it was announced that TraceTogether ill be available as open-sourced to help the spread of COVID-19.
