Franceska McCullough Creates Extraordinary Art Out of Ordinary Materials

I’m a sculptor and I use thousands and thousands of toothpicks to create sculptures based on the orbits of the planets. I have synesthesia and I can see sounds as patterns, shapes and colors. I use my synesthesia to help me sculpt various sounds that I have collected.

I call my sculptures ‘Pods’ and each one takes a month or more to make and averages 20,000 to 80,000 toothpicks or more. They are made to be suspended from the ceiling so that light will shine through and send distorted shadows in every direction. Stats for Toothpick Sculptures Trending: Older & Warm
