Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland is sure to be an eccentric fantasy flick and visually splendid revival of the classic novel by Lewis Carroll. It stars 19-year-old Mia Wasikowska as Alice and none other than Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. While the Disney spin on Alice in Wonderland was full of fantasy, it was child-friendly and not likely to induce nightmares. Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, however, might be a little more unsettling but is guaranteed to be an entrancing show for children, teens and adults alike. USA Today offers a series of images which you can scroll up, down and sideways in, exploring the new Burton fantasy land. Time Burton’s Alice in Wonderland won’t be released until March 5, 2010, but expect plenty of images, trailers and hype in months to come.  Alice, 17, attends a party at a Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types. Off she runs, following a white rabbit into a hole and ending up in Wonderland, a place she visited 10 years before yet doesn’t remember.
Among those who welcome her back is the Mad Hatter, a part tailor-made for Johnny Depp as he collaborates with Burton for the seventh time. “This character is off his rocker,” Zanuck says.
