The Wrong Shop - Unexpected Souvenirs from Portuguese Designers

The most hideous thing in the world is buying souvenirs! If you agree with this statement and are the type of human being that waits until the last day and hour to buy that special present that your family, friends or couple are waiting with great excitement, you have to keep reading: The Wrong Shop can be your solution. Portuguese designer Sara Farias (32- years old) launched a new concept store idea based on offering design souvenirs with a twist on their interpretation; always searching the ironic side of life, these irreverent and underground designers help millions of tourists to find a truly special gift to take back home. They give a new meaning to them and always ask themselves “How wrong can I be?”. Their leit-motif is “with the Wrong concept in mind, we give you ideas for gifts and souvenirs that are closely related to traditional Portuguese symbols or to the Portuguese way of living and communicating”. My favourite items are the “Wrong T-shirts” where you get a T-shirt with a cool design of the Tour Eiffel or the Sagrada Familia and the following line “This is not Lisbon”! I find it just hilarious!!! Thanks God we have an option to not buy the most than seen T-shirt with the “Love Lisbon” motif… There some other funky objects such as the “Digital Game”, that is as digital as a piece of paper: it is digital because when you play with it you do it with your fingers, so is digital! Or “The Book Saramago never wrote” and you find yourself looking at an empty book, with all their pages in a beautiful pale white!!! The latest item is an “Origami wallet” that is done following the Japanese tradition.
