Wow, how would you like to find this snake slithering around in your garden? A fossil found in northeastern Colombia shows us the biggest snake ever. This serpentine wonder lived 60 million years ago, weighed in at 2500 pounds, measured in at 45 feet, and feasted on relatives of the crocodile. To give you a little more perspective, this snake was longer than a city bus and weighed more than a bison (which this prehistoric wonder would have had no trouble making a meal of).  While related to modern boa constrictors, it behaved more like an anaconda and spent almost all its time in the water, Head said. It could slither on land as well as swim.
Conrad, who wasn't involved in the discovery, called the find "just unbelievable... It mocks your preconceptions about how big a snake can get."
