Interactive Art - The Weave and Peg Mirrors (VIDEO)

The Weave Mirror and Peg Mirror, both designed by Daniel Rozin are part of the Fabrication show featured at New York’s digital art gallery. The weave mirror is composed of 768 motorized and laminated C-shaped prints and looks like a big woven basket. When a person approaches it, it produces a clacking sound and an image is produced. The portrait of the person is created using a gradual rotation in grayscale value on each of the C-rings. The material is suspended from the ceiling and at the back of the reflective surface, the functional circuitry and wiring can be seen. The peg mirror is made out of 650 circular wooden pieces that are all cut on an angle. The wooden peg forms concentric circles that surround a small camera placed in the center. Using the software that Daniel Rozin created, the peg mirror processes video signals and breaks up the image pixel by pixel and geometrically. Source: smoothware Via: we-make-money-not-art |
