If you are currently in Quebec city, you are in luck! To celebrate Québec City’s 400th anniversary, artist Robert Lepage created a wonderful motion picture that is especially designed to be projected on a 1,968 foot wide movie projection screen composed of mills.

The movie, The Image Mill, tells the story of the city’s history in an animated mosaic that moves against the grain silos in the Port of Québec.

The breathtaking viewing started June 20, and the picture will keep playing every night until August 24.

It shows how Lepage made innovative use of the contours of the silos, turning them into bullets, candles, a printing press, cigarettes, etc, and how he turned the entire complex into other kinds of buildings completely, such as a factory and an airport. (ironicsans)
