I don’t know how this is legal or safe. On the island of St. Maarten the airport is very short so it is only 40 feet way from a public beach. I understand that a runway can be close to a beach or the waterfront but this seems weird that the local government allow people to enjoy the beach in front of the runway.

This great if the airplane miss the runway then you will be on the beach and your vacation will have a quick start.

Check out the video it just crazy. It is something the guys from Jackass vacation at.  Goto youtube and search “Landing at St. Maarten”
