'The Bagel Project' is an eye-opening photo series from 20 year-old student Justin Bettman.
The Los Angeles-based student decided to give a bagel in exchange for a story that each of his subjects has never told before. Bettman has said of the Bagel Project, "I've been continually surprised by the fact that these people are content with their lives; if anything, they are happier to have a friend to talk to rather than the food provided. My goal with this project is to give a voice to the voiceless."
The project easily encourages the viewer to feel for the voiceless and hopefully, will help to change peoples' minds on homelessness.
Implications - Projects that are driven towards change in a certain social issue need to tap into a sentiment. By doing this, the project will evoke the empathetic emotions needed to spark strong desire to change the world.
