How cool is this, a giant cylindrical aquarium with a built-in elevator. According to wikipedia, the AquaDom in Berlin, Germany, is a 25 meter tall cylindrical acrylic glass aquarium with built-in transparent elevator. It is the largest acrylic glass cylinder in the world, with a diameter of over 11 meters, built on a 9 meters tall concrete foundation. The beautiful aquarium is located at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Berlin-Mitte which contains a hotel, offices, a restaurant, and the aquarium Sea Life Center. The outside cylinder was manufactured on-site from four pieces; the inside cylinder for the elevator was delivered in one piece. Filled with about 900,000 liters of seawater, it contains about 2600 fish of 56 species. Daily feeding of the fish and the cleaning of the fish tank is performed by a pair of full-time divers.  Built by Reynolds Polymer Technology, it required 41 R-Cast pannels, 26 for the outside cylinder and 15 panels for the inside, plus 16 on-site bonds. The precision of the work, required to hold that water volume and pressure, it's amazing. Reynolds is specialized in creating this kind of aquariums, among other things, which other jewels like the AB Baltic Mega Mall Aquarium, which holds 43,000 gallons of water but has reef sharks, or the aquariums of the famous Burj-Al-Arab tower, in Dubai.
