'Whim' is a text-free dating app that focuses on fostering real-world connections. Many dating apps allow users to freely message one another without the pressure to actually meet in person. 'Whim' eliminates this kind of endless texting by forcing users to set up actual dates with their potential matches.

When users sign up for the dating service, they are asked to specify the days they are free in their profile. They can then browse through other users' profiles and select those they would like to meet. When two people express an interest in one another, the service will automatically set up a date based on each user's availability and preferences. While users can still message each other about issues such as logistics, they are not required to continue texting.

The text-free dating app is designed to make people think harder about which users they wish to select and whether they are actually interested in meeting that person.
