Inclusive Social Media Campaigns

TBWALondon Launched the #OutAndProudParentsDay Initiative

Disruptive marketing agency, TBWALondon, recently launched a social awareness initiative called #OutAndProudParentsDay. The campaign seeks to support parents of LGBTQ+ who may be struggling to come to terms with their children's identities.

The initiative highlights the fact that "people who come out to unaccepting parents are 2.7 times more likely to experience anxiety and depression. In some cases suicide." In order to promote an accepting culture, the campaign seeks to spread a message of acceptance via documented experiences of parents "coming out" as mothers and fathers of their LGBTQ+ child. Through the social buzz, #OutAndProudParentsDay creates a calendar moment for parents to reflect on the bravery of their children.

The campaign encourages and empowers other parents to share their own stories and videos on social media using the #OutAndProudParentsDay hashtag to foster an inclusive and accepting community.
