Now that spring is in full bloom and sunshine is no longer a figment of the imagination, a DIY Tassel Tote project is in order, because nothing says spring like a fun, colorful bag.

Basically, it's a woven straw tote with handmade tassels attached, reflecting a chipper state of mind that never fails to crack a smile. For this do-it-yourself, you'll need 60 skeins of embroidery floss, an embroidery needle, a straw market tote and a pair of scissors.

For every skein of embroidery floss, you can make two short tassels, so start by cutting 16-inches of floss and tying them together, then attaching them to the tote with the needle in a uniform fashion along the sides.
