Her Don’t Stay A Virgin campaign is a response to the recent Virgin drama in which the giant media company CEO called net neutrality “bollocks,” and stated their plans to control and regulate bandwidth. This means that big companies with enough money will have their sites loading nice and fast, while new and emerging companies will have lower bandwidth. The result is the end of the Internet as we know it. Users prefer sites that load faster, so it will be much harder for new bloggers and emerging video and social sites to compete and attract a following.

According to Tanya, “Net neutrality is paramount to safeguard free speech and innovation on the Internet. With only one arguably negative side-effect: an unusual amount of today’s Internet users are virgin. That’s a problem I intend to solve. In history, man has always waged war for freedom.
