Tanana Takite Uses Tassels to Mimic Tresses

We've seen a number of photo sets that place hair as a primary focus, but Tanana Takite's 'Hair' uses thread in place of actual human tresses.

This photo set features string twisted and bunched to mimic hair. It's amazing how Tanana Takite is able to manipulate thread in so many ways. Click through the gallery above to see what I mean.

Implications - If thread can be used to make hair that looks this realistic, it would definitely be beneficial for companies that make dolls or wigs to look into how they could similarly adapt this method to create realistic wigs. It would definitely prove to be cheaper than using real hair (animal or otherwise) or expensive composites, and that is in and of itself a definite advantage.
