'Krispy Kreme' is launching a campaign to celebrate 'International Talk Like a Pirate Day' on September 19th. The parody holiday is designed to celebrate the lifestyle and language of pirates by encouraging everyone to use sea-inspired phrases. Krispy Kreme is honoring the day with a special promotion for enthusiastic pirate fans.

On September 19th, Krispy Kreme promises to provide a free Original Glazed donut to any customer who provides their best pirate impression. While there are no guidelines for what the consumer must say, popular phrases include "ahoy, matey" and "shiver me timbers." Krispy Kreme even offers a box of a dozen donuts to those who go the extra mile and come dressed in full pirate garb. The chain is also offering pirate-themed donuts at certain locations for those who wish to join in the celebrations.

While the idea of speaking like a sailor may seem silly, the promotion provides a fun way for children and adults to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
