Maxthreads Architectural Design & Planning proposal for the Taichung City Cultural Centre competition looks like a series of differently sized baskets. An unconventional gathering space for visitors and locals alike, it is a sculptural structure that many would be proud of. Since it defines the northern arrival gateway to Taichung Gateway Park, it is only natural that the architects would want to make a visual impact.

Inspired by the beautiful mountain-scape of Taroko Gorge National Park in Taiwan, the Taichung City Cultural Centre brings a bit of the outdoors inside as well, especially when it comes to natural light.
