The Swarovski Crystal Palace is the ultimate bling-infused abode with its walls, its roof and even its floor made from an intricate honeycomb structure of small and highly reflective gems. A close look reveals the incredible detail of the installation that makes it such a mesmerizing experience to observe.
Asif Khan worked with the University of Manchester to produce this 20-foot-high pavilion for Design Miami 2012. It comprises a steady framework to mimic the iconic shape of a house with a pitched roof while the planes that enclose it are of a more delicate nature. The spellbinding glow and reflections that the eyes can appreciate in the Swarovski Crystal Palace give the building celestial properties that look amazingly like the northern lights within a gallery setting.
