Hackaday Creates a Fire-Breathing Super Mario Piranha Plant

Straight out of the video game, the Super Mario Piranha Plant project from Hackaday is over 6-feet tall and breathes giant balls of fire.

Made out of cardboard and foam, it's a wonder this crazy sculptural creation hasn't combusted into a huge flower-shaped fire. Two modes of flame were created: one that shoots fire incredibly high and is for outdoor use only, and another that releases smaller bursts of fire and should probably also remain outdoors.

With some background knowledge in flame-throwers and plenty of fire extinguishers on hand, you could create your own fire-breathing Super Mario Piranha Plant as the construction itself seems fairly easy to handle and some paint gives it an authentic look.
