Lines and shadows play an important role in the work of Simon Ekrelius, who is fascinated by the relation between constructivism and the future. Hand painted futuristic motifs in silver and black on cotton provide a dainty, feminine geometric feel, that is simultaneously strong and powerful. Architectural pattern techniques are applied to the designs to create an authoritarian silhouette using fabrics such as silk organza, silk chiffon, cotton canvas, poplin, linen and cotton satin.
