Photographer Steven Pan reveals the striking rebellious nature of Frida Gustavsson's character. For Flair Magazine Fall 2013, the model is dressed in the most fashionable grunge outfits and with heavy eye makeup, she expresses leftover teenage angst.
The editorial is surprisingly elegant despite its rough texture. In one of the more subtle images, Gustavsson poses in monochrome fashion with black eye makeup and a hat to the side. She has her septum pierced and yet looks calm and beautiful.
In severe contrast, another image captures a more sultry version where her hair flies up, disheveled and unkempt, and she looks sinisterly upward while cradling a cigarette between her fingers.
The photo shoot encapsulates the image of rough-edged urban girls and shows that underneath the coarse exterior there is a soft and delicate soul.
