What happens when you heat up strips of oak with steam and present them to an ultra-talented furniture designer? If you’re lucky enough, the designer is Matthias Pliessnig, and end up with sensuous seating like those pictured here from Matthias’ ‘Sit’ collection.

His most recent piece, shown here, and titled ‘Providence’, is a chaise for two. The flowing form of the wood is a work of art on its own; just imagine what it must feel like stretching out on this gorgeous lounge.
