'Spot Message' is the name of a new augmented reality communication app that's making it possible for people to leave location-specific messages for friends and loved ones. As suggested by the app creators, the application could potentially be used by a spouse who wants to leave a special message for a loved one in a meaningful location.

As of now, the first 10 augmented reality video messages that are created with the Android app are free, then app users are prompted to become members in order to take advantage of the ability to share more with others.

As an location-specific augmented reality app, Spot Message has been compared to Pokemon Go, which follows a similar premise, but for the purposes of gaming and entertainment rather than communication.
