I’m not condoning the action of the Somali pirates that recently captured a British couple who were sailing their yacht off the coast of the Amirante Islands, but it would be a complete denial of the truth if I said that I had never before had daydreams about being held hostage by a group of scurvy sailors. I know what you’re thinking, but my daydream has nothing to do with a Jonny Depp fantasy a la “Pirates of the Caribbean” and everything to do with a lust for injecting a bit of action and excitement into my life. That being said, I understand that it must be a harrowing situation for the couple captured by the Somali pirates, and that the pirates are nothing like the ones in my daydreams. So, while I do hope that they return back to Britain safe and sound, I can’t help but feel the slightest bit of envy. References: telegraphFiled In: |
