SunHopes was a runner-up in the RE:Vision Design Competition, 2007 - exploring portable and infrastructure-free access to electric power. It uses helium balloons as a platform to harvest solar energy. By hoisting balloons of different shapes and sizes into the air, no space is taken up on the ground and the maximum energy is produced to the changing position and angle of the sun.
