The Piq Social Jukebox Democratizes the DJ Role

By: Alexander Lam - Published: • References: & kickstarter
Piq is a social jukebox that democratizes the music choosing process. Usually, party goers are constrained to the music of a single device and the tastes of a single person; the only way to change the music is to hijack the audio system and no one wants to do that. Piq solves this by giving guests control over what they want to listen to.

A device the size of your hand moderates music choices at your party. Guests can use the Piq web app to choose and vote on songs. Songs that are voted up, get played sooner. Piq also remembers your music history and constructs radio stations based on what you’ve enjoyed in the past.

The device is currently on Kickstarter looking to get funding for manufacturing and design. A pledge of $99 gets you your very own Piq. Stats for Democratizing Social Jukeboxes Trending: Older & Chilly
