California-based virtual reality technology company NextVR is teaming up with Fox Sports to offer an immersive 360-degree soccer broadcast. This groundbreaking soccer broadcast is being timed to celebrate the start of the new season of the German 'Bundesliga' league, and will feature a clash between defending champions Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen. The broadcast, which will take place at 2:30 pm on Friday August 26, can be enjoyed by anyone who owns a Samsung Gear VR headset.

This 360-degree stream isn't the first virtual reality broadcast offered by Fox Sports and NextVR, who previously collaborated on immersive auto racing and basketball programming.

The offering of a virtual reality soccer broadcast is a forward-thinking move that is designed to position Fox Sports as a leader in the increasingly competitive soccer broadcasting market.
