Health authorities in Guangdong, China, are putting an end to cruel poultry slaughtering mechanisms related to a controversial detox dish.

An uproar in the media commenced after some Chinese restaurants were reportedly serving chickens which had been bitten by poisonous snakes.

Although the snake-bitten chicken dish is a supposed detoxing meal, another prized dish, monkey brains on a live animal, is also upsetting animal rights campaigners in the West.

Implications - Although dishes like these may be culturally significant to certain areas, they are still immoral and disturb many ethical consumers. These exotic and strange meals won't be hitting major menus anytime soon. Stats for Venom-Infused Chickens Trending: Older & Chilly
