The SMART City Initiative is a transit redesign taking place in India thanks to TATA MOTORS with a focus on integrating smart transportation options into cities to improve the commuting experience. The project includes the unveiling of a series of TATA MOTORS electric buses called Ultra Electric that feature a modular, 3D-printed design.

The Ultra Electric buses are a contemporary design that opts to infuse tech advances into the transit industry. The buses reflect an emphasis on the consumer by providing charging ports in each seat and a spacious 3D-printed interior that provides comfort. The exterior of the bus is brightly decorated in orange and light blue colorways, to provide an identifiable design that reflects the identity of the metropolis.

The vehicles also include free Wi-Fi access for guests aboard, to make the commute that much more enjoyable.
