A 22-year-old tech whiz has invented a glowing orb that studies your sleep patterns and monitors your sleeping environment, giving you feedback and tips so you can work on improving the quality of your slumber.

The device, dubbed 'Sense,' comes with a 'Sleep Pill' that clips onto your pillowcase. The Pill records your sleep patterns by measuring how much you move in your sleep. The main Sense orb measures different environmental parameters including temperature, light, motion, humidity, sound and even pollen and dust particles in the air.

When users look at at the app in the morning, it produces a timeline of the entire night and shows you how different environmental stimuli might have affected your sleep patterns.

The orb's developer has taken to Kickstarter to raise funds for its production; a pledge of $99 will land you one if the product meets its fundraising goal.
