Sleeping in a hotel that has only one room at the top of a lighthouse is really a unique sensation.
Harlingen Lighthouse is located in the heart of Harlingen (The Netherlands) harbour docks. Built around 1920, it has been renovated and converted in a hotel in 1998. The beautiful room develops on three floors, one hosting the bathroom, one with the bedroom (which hosts a comfortable hand-made bed), and the last one, the “lantern room”, which is a romantic living room with wonderful panoramic view.

The designers have mantained the original the nautical theme and a VHF radio is also provided, in case you wish to hear the movements of the shipping traffic, as well as windspeed and other information.

The view on the city and on the surrounding docks is truly fascinating, and it’s worth the visit to this 24-meter high 5-star hotel.
