The new Skype office will definitely make some companies consider remodeling their current work spaces.
The designers at design studio Blitz were the minds behind the Skype office, and they certainly delivered. The firm sticks with an open space concept that eliminates isolation, but not so much that privacy isn't an option. The interior consists of warehouse ceilings, glass offices and free-standing pods to "provide a high level of acoustic privacy for Skype calls," according to Blitz. The light colors accentuate natural lighting which complement the faux patches of grass that further highlight the naturalistic environment. Blitz also supplied mobile white boards that can be hung almost anywhere in case inspiration strikes Skype's employees.
The Skype office is a place that's warm, inviting and a happier environment for employees. The concept offers a stylized design with functionality that serves its purpose beautifully.
