From Sky Ceilings: How SkyCeilings Work Ceiling Grid - SkyCeilings fit into standard 2’x2’, 2’x4’, 60cm, or custom grid systems. Luminous SkyCeilings require 9” of overhead clearance from the bottom of the grid to the hard ceiling. Elevators are aluminum frames that snap into the “T-bar” of the ceiling grid. Elevators raise the translucent image tiles of Luminous SkyCeilings 1-¼” above the ceiling grid, creating a 3-dimensional support structure that also eliminates structural shadows. Image Tiles - Image Tiles are high-resolution photographic images on translucent acrylic panels for Luminous SkyCeilings, or opaque panels for Ambient SkyCeilings. Lighting Systems (for Luminous SkyCeilings only) - 6500K, daylight-balanced, T-5 fluorescent, or 6000K, daylight-balanced, RFfreeLux LEDs (for MRIs), evenly illuminate the translucent image tiles.
