Skin Colored Turtle Necks - Missoni Fall 2008 (GALLERY)
|
Deep, plunging necklines are stunning, yet they’re a look many women aren’t comfortable pulling off. A perfect solution are skin coloured turtle necks, as seen at Missoni at Milan Fashion Week.
Paired with a turquoise and brown floral gown which plummeted at the cleavage, the neutral toned sweater covered up the décolletage and neck without sacrificing the aesthetics of the focal piece. Because of the sweater’s sheer qualities, it didn’t create bulk, nor did it make the pieces look overly conservative.
This also fixes the problem of wearing flirtier tops and dresses in colder seasons when a dress covering less flesh may not be so appropriate. It’s a great way to extend the wear of what were once considered warm-weather-only outfits.
Missoni’s Fall 2008 collection shows how this works with coloured turtle necks as well, even darker tones like chocolate brown and black.
