If your mom used to tell you to stop gaming and do your homework, you can now retaliate by telling her there's a university course called "21st Century Skills in Starcraft." The University of Florida has introduced a class dedicated to the popular computer game that will reputedly improve problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.
The program is an eight-week online course that stresses frequent game-playing, and more academically, it calls for written assignments that examine the game and its relevance to the real world. The "Skills in Starcraft" course is perhaps an unexpected approach to learning, but will certainly inspire many young minds who prefer not to leave their computers.
