Siafu will make it possible for people with vision loss or severe impairment to interact by touch.
The key to this innovation is the awesome concept material, magneclay, or magnetized liquid. It’s “an oil based synthetic agent that possesses limitless morphing capabilities,” according to Yanko Designs.
Through electromagnetic fields the surface will morph upward to mimic images. It could create braille, recreate web pages or even make photographs into 3D.
The concept was designed by Jonathan Lucas.
TheIts loose molecular structure but can be infinitely rearranged when acted upon by electrical and magnetic charges. As long as the charges acting upon it remain stable, the magneclay will hold its structural rigidity, allowing it to be touched and groped without deformation.
